If you have come this far is because you’ve probably been thinking about giving a radical change to your terrace or garden with artificial turf, and there are many questions that haunt your head before taking the final step.
In Artificial Garden we are happy to help you choose the model that best suits your needs. We have prepared this post especially for you.
What are the advantages of artificial turf?
The first thing you should know is that you are making a good choice because artificial turf offers numerous benefits, among which the following are worth mentioning:
- Low maintenance
- You save money
- It stands out for its durability and resistance, since it does not produce allergies and does not require fertilizers or fertilizers.
- It is versatile, suitable for any home and can be placed both indoors and outdoors.
- It is safe for pets and children.
Which grass should I choose?
Now comes the definitive answer: Which lawn is best for my terrace or garden? To make the right choice of the model you want to place, you should know the following aspects:
Utility of artificial turf
It is necessary to take into account where it is going to be used and what it is going to be used for, since a lawn for a busy area is not the same as a lawn for an area with a swimming pool, or for pets or a play area for children.
Grass base (Backing)
It is the black rubber part where the fibers are sewn. They are usually of two types: latex or polyurethane. The difference between the two is their resistance, drainage and adherence capacity. The latex ones are suitable for temperate climates and to place on terraces and patios or areas with little traffic. The polyurethane ones are ideal for exteriors and resist any temperature change. In addition, this type of underlayment is environmentally friendly, since the material is recyclable.
Fiber height
The choice of fiber height depends on the intended use of the turf:
– Less than 20mm: For a more practical use, for example as a carpet or rug.
– Between 20mm and 30mm: Suitable for moderate use of artificial turf.
– Between 30mm and 40mm: It is suitable for intensive use, such as a pool area.
– Over 40mm: This type of turf is perfect for sports areas and children’s play areas.
Color and texture
The more the colors of the artificial turf are mixed, the more similar it will be to natural grass. This is due to the combination of green, beige and brown fibers. It is also true that sometimes naturalness is not sought, simply a product that is economical and fulfills its function, to cover some surface. In short, everything depends on the needs of each case.
Regarding the texture, it should be smooth but it should also be durable. It is not appropriate to choose very thin models for areas that are going to be heavily trafficked, since they may deteriorate sooner.
Finally, we would like to tell you that in Artificial Grass you can order samples of artificial turf before placing the final order. You have the possibility to choose up to a maximum of four samples.
